Day 5 Lake Natron to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via Klein’s gate. En-route from Natron to Klein’s gate it is more of the landscape rather than the animals that is the attraction.

We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

Serengeti’s stunning landscape can be seen in some of the most impressive nature documentaries. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife are unsurpassed. The annual wildebeest migration with more than a million wildebeest is probably the highlight of the Serengeti. It is a true spectacle and impressive to watch millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles thunder across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Together with your private guide you will be looking for the herds across the plains. Apart from the migratory animals you will also get to see lots of other animals, like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park.

If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari (Option). It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.

Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park, and later drive back to the Hotel/Lodge/Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

An impressive experience to see all those hoofed mammals, followed by predators, migrate in a clockwise circle every year. If you would like also to spot the Big Five animals (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo) all in one park, the Serengeti is the place to be.

In the evening, you will drive back to your Hotel/Lodge/Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five. The views from the crater rim over the crater floor are incredible. Because of its natural beauty the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders.

Day 9 Karatu – Lake Eyasi – Airport

After an early morning breakfast, you depart for your cultural tour with the hadzabe community. This is your day with typical cultural tribe and engage in real hunting together. It is a tribe of hunters and collectors, which formerly inhabited the Serengeti, but was forced away by stronger and more aggressive tribes. A visit with the hadzabe is worthwhile as they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt.

The Hadzabe live in traditional ways, hunting game such as dik-diks and collecting honey.Their huts are simple, built in a few hours and as easily abandoned. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting. Everything they use is made from local materials, including their bows which are strung with giraffe tendon and their arrows which are coated in lethal poison. Their language resembles that of Kalahari Bushmen tribe (who were featured in the 1980 film ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’) with clicking noises. After hunting and engagement with the tribe, you depart for Arusha with a stop for your lunch on the way.

Later drop to your hotel or proceed to Airport for flight back home.
