Day 1

Lake Manyara National Park

Depart at 08h00 from Arusha in a 4×4 for the drive to Lake Manyara National Park, home to an alkaline lake and breathtaking views. Here you will view a wide variety of wildlife and the acacia woodlands offer the best overall wildlife viewing in the park.

Enjoy your picnic lunches under the acacia trees. This habitat is favored by the park’s famous tree-climbing lions as well as leopards, giraffes and the greatest elephant concentration in East Africa.
Algae thrive in the high saline content of the lake. Huge and colorful flocks of birds gather in the water to feed, including many different varieties of birds that coexist together. In fact, well over 300 different species of birds have been recorded here, continue with afternoon game drive and later drive to the lush retreat of Escarpment Luxury Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Olduvai Gorge - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast then drive to Serengeti National Park with a brief visit en route to Olduvai Gorge, which is often referred to as ‘The Cradle of Mankind’ and is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world.

Enjoy a picnic lunch then proceed to Serengeti National Park, with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

Dinner & Overnight at Kubu Kubu  Tented Lodge

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

Today you will head out early for your morning game drive for a chance to witness a magnificent African sunrise in the bush. Head out after a cup of coffee and experience the wilderness and its magnificent creatures as they wake up among the dew covered grasses. Later you will head back to camp for breakfast and some relaxing. In the afternoon you will head out once more for another chance to explore the plains in search of the African wildlife you have come to see as you exit the park and make your way to your lodge in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Dinner & Overnight at Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Often described as one of Africa’s ‘Garden of Eden’, Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations.

It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species.  With a bit of luck, the Big Five can be spotted during one game drive only.

Are safaris in Tanzania safe?

Tanzania is one of Africa’s most stable countries. You’ll be welcomed by its friendly people and always taken care of by attentive staff. After full days of wildlife viewing, rest up at lodges, which offer authentic African charm and modern-day conveniences.

What additional costs can I expect when traveling in Tanzania?

Your safari land packages will include all accommodations, meals, water (with meals and on wildlife-viewing drives), airport transfers, park fees and services of guides and drivers. International airfare is not included.

Additional costs may include: tips for your guides, drivers and staff, bar beverages, laundry service, passport and visa fees, souvenirs and travel insurance (if you choose to purchase it).

What is the Great Wildebeest Migration?

The Great Wildebeest Migration is a year-round phenomenon where millions of mammals, mainly wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra, move around the Serengeti in a clockwise pattern in search of food and water. The driving force of the migration is rain, making it difficult to predict.

This happens from June to September (the mammals head Masai Mara) and October to November (Migration return back to Serengeti)

What if I don’t see the Great Migration during my safari?

Hakuna matata! No worries! Plenty of awe-inspiring moments present themselves whenever you travel in Tanzania. Even if you don’t happen to see the Great Migration, you’ll still see an abundance of wildlife.

What’s the food like?

With advanced notice, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and diabetic-friendly meals can easily be arranged. Make sure to inform us when booking your trip.

Will I have a chance to interact with the local people of Tanzania?

Many of our trips provide opportunities to visit local villages and interact with the people. However, if your itinerary does not include these visits, you’ll still gain valuable local insight from your expert guide, a native of Tanzania.

Can i bring children during the safari?

Of course! We think taking your whole family on safari is a wonderful way to learn and grow together; think of the lifelong memories! We recommend a minimum age of six on our family safaris.

Can I make my own itinerary?

Absolutely. Just contact us to start the process. We’ll listen to your needs and give expert recommendations based on your interests, timeline and budget. Leave the details to us!
